These are

Is
this program for you? Yes it is. While I work with golfers of
a wide range of ability, the distribution is skewed. A majority of the
individuals I work with have an index of 10 or less.
But the
beauty of this program is that it can and will help golfers of all abilities.
Furthermore, there are adjustments in the program that allow you to customize
the workouts to your current fitness level.
How
long will it take before I see improvements? It depends (that
was my favorite answer to give my students as a professor - they hated
it!). All kidding aside, it depends on three things.
- Your
current handicap. If your handicap is 20 or above, you can
see results rather quickly. Some of my clients have reported improvements
within two months. But if, for example your handicap is 8 (or less),
it will take longer.
- Your
current fitness level. If you haven't been diligent with your
fitness program (golf-specific or not), you will see general health
benefits within 2-3 weeks. You may even see golf-related improvements
within this time period, but 4 weeks is probably a little more realistic.
- Your
dedication to getting better. If you really want to get better
and stay consistent with the program, you will see results faster. You
can't hope to improve your chances of getting up and down from a green
side bunker if you don't practice. The same holds true with this program.
If you perform
the work, you will get better.
More
about the Golf Fitness Boot Camp. This is an 8-week training
program that includes 24 different workouts. Each exercise in the workout
is listed in Chapter 3 of the program and categorized by golf-specific
fitness component. The components are: Balance, Cardio, Core, Posture,
Power and Strength, within each component the exercises are listed alphabetically.
Each exercise contains two important things: text
descriptions and photos.
Text descriptions
provide step-by-step instructions on how to perform each exercise and
have sections for starting position, movement, movement keys, ending
position and alternatives. Each exercise has at least two photos
showing the correct starting and ending positions, and intermediate photos
for more complex exercises. In addition to the workouts and exercises,
also included are warm-up and cool-down guides, a pre-release copy of
